چکیده

Objective: Epileptic seizures may cause skeletal muscle injury and memory dysfunctions. The present study was aimed to investigate the possible protective effects of exercising prior seizure on seizure-induced oxidative in brain. Materials Methods: Sprague-Dawley male rats were assigned as non-exercise (n=16) exercise groups (n=16). Following a 3-day training, protocol (30 min) performed treadmill for 10 days, while control had no exercise. On 11th day epileptic induced by single intraperitoneal injection pentylenetetrazol (PTZ) (45 mg/kg), injected with saline. Passive-avoidance test initially before PTZ/saline repeated 72 h later assessment function. Brain gastrocnemius muscles taken histological assessments determine levels malondialdehyde (MDA) glutathione (GSH), myeloperoxidase (MPO) activity luminal -and lucigenin- enhanced chemiluminescence levels. Results: Exercise training alone increased formation reactive oxygen species elevated antioxidant GSH capacity tissue rats, but these not observed exercised PTZ-seizure. other hand, short-term effect basal parameters brain tissues. Prior did alter average scores or performances when compared non-exercised groups, suppressed PTZ-induced elevations MDA well MPO Conclusion: A 10-day mild reduced damage due excitotoxicity exerted preconditioning exposed tonic-clonic contractions.

The effect of resistance exercise on oxidative stress in cardiac and skeletal muscle tissues of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats

Abstract Background and Objective: It has been shown that oxidative stress increases in diabetes and it has an important role in its development and subsequent complications. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of acute resistance exercise on oxidative stress in skeletal muscle and cardiac tissues of streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Twenty male ...

Treadmill exercise alleviates chronic mild stress-induced depression in rats

Depression is a major cause of disability and one of the most common public health problems. In the present study, antidepressive effect of treadmill exercise on chronic mild stress (CMS)-induced depression in rats was investigated. For this, sucrose intake test, immunohistochemistry for 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine, terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase-mediated dUTP nick end-labeling staining, and...

Neuronal injury and death following focal mild brain injury: The role of network excitability and seizure

Objective(s): While traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a predisposing factor for development of post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE), the occurrence of seizures following brain trauma can infuriate adverse consequences of brain injury. However, the effect of seizures in epileptogenesis after mild TBI cannot yet be accurately confirmed. This study was designed to investigate the ...
